رَدّ is this week’s Lebanese Arabic Word of the Week

رَدّ radd is a verb that means to bring back, to give back, or to respond to. Here is how it is conjugated:

بِرِدّ، عم يِرِدّ، رح يِرِدّ، رادِد

 

عمول مَعروف، بترِدّني ع البيت
3mool ma3ruuf, bitriddny 3al beit?
Would you please bring me back home?

 

رَدّ الِكتاب ع المَكتَبِة
radd likteib 3al maktabeh.
He brought the book back to the library.

 

عم يرِنّ التّلِفون، بس ما حدا عم يرِدّ
3am yrinn et-telefon bas ma 7ada 3am yridd.
The phone is ringing, but no one is answering.

 

 رَدَّيتِلّي روحي
raddaytilly ruu7y.
